Don’t think I don’t love Frankenstein, I do. But I love the idea behind it. The actual execution of the book, not so much. Which is why I am grateful to James Whale and Boris Karloff. They may not have been particularly faithful to the source, but they really brought the character to life, and supplanted the novel in the public imagination. Especially in Bride of Frankenstein, which has a great, less silly version of the Shelley/Byron/Polidori evening of ghost stories.

Also, remember who the narrator is here when listening to the story.
