Hooray, Hex Libris is live and on the scheduled day (unless you live in Europe, then I’ve slipped to Wednesday this week). See my original post below for a glimpse into the life of a struggling cartoonist.
I realize now that I’ll need to keep track of Connie Carter’s “Girl Detective” rules. She’s only mentioned one other, but I don’t want to use the same number for two different important rules.
So far, we’ve got Rule #12 (Remember the path you took) and Rule #45 (Expect to miss some dates). I’m open to your input on other Girl Detective rules.
Here’s what I posted at 1:30 AM today:
If I had hair, I’d be sitting here with great handfuls of it between my fingers. My computer continues to act up. The strip was almost done, by my workstation has once again gone wrong. The problem obviously is the hard drive, and not just a data issue. It’s been working so beautifully all day, but now I sit here miserable.
Getting this strip live every Tuesday and updating the Dog a Day Project daily are commitments I’ve made to myself as much as to anyone. And these commitments mean a lot to me. And now I sit staring at the system, knowing that the file is on there and that I can retrieve it in time. But it’s 1:40 a.m. and I’m exhausted. The strip will be late, but I do plan to have it for you today.
Anyone who wants to light a candle or say a little prayer for my hard drive and my sanity has my gratitude. I have back ups. I just wish I had more time.
