Not the best choice of terms on Connie’s part, but her heart is in the right place (even if her body is as far as it can be from her hand there). If you haven’t met the Lilith Kirby is referring to, Kirby first met her in this strip. But as the figure in the third panel says, this isn’t Lilith as you might expect. Go back to the beginning and you might just recognize the silhouette. Otherwise, stay tuned for the beginning of chapter 10 of Hex Libris, coming next Tuesday.

It must be my maudlin side, but this one actually choked me up a bit. You really do get attached to your characters, though in the original plan for this strip the Frankenstein Creature was meant to be more comic relief. Who knew he had such depth? I didn’t until a few weeks ago.

I think I’ll let this one speak for itself. I like the idea that Frankenstein’s Creature is capable of inspiring true affection.

I wasn’t really sure, at the end of the last strip, exactly who would appear out of the magical cloud. But I was always leaning towards Puck, as I love A Midsummer Night’s Dream. An old English member of the Faerie family, he also shows up as the Pucca (immortalized in the Jimmy Stewart film Harvey) and gives us our word “puckish”.
