Kirby really is a pushover. A gentleman and someone unwilling to stand up to Frankenstein’s Creature. Well, maybe a little bit. Again, this is where Kirby and I are pretty similar. I’m not positive how I’d deal with the Creature, but I would end up in the tub if it were the only place to sleep after giving up my bed to a young lady.

That’s the end of the chapter. We’ll learn more about the library and much more about the book Frankenstein. Mary Shelley may turn in her grave, but I bet she could use the exercise.

Well, here’s a bit more information. I think Connie Carter, Girl Detective, is being willfully out of touch here. I bet you would be trying to do the same. Heck, maybe you really are just a character in a book.

Think about it. And if you are a character in a book, is the author good? Bad? A hack? I think it’s a cool question to ask.

I know at least some of my readership have degrees in history (yep, it’s true). For the rest of you, the Library at Alexandria was considered one of the wonders of the ancient world. From what I can tell, there’s real disagreement as to when it burned and who did the burnin’. But burn it did. We can hope that the Library of Hex Libris is a little more flame retardant.

Frankenstein’s Creature seems to have a grandiose streak, and one he doesn’t like having punctured. At least Connie Carter, Girl Detective, has enough sense (or modesty) to let him indulge this streak. Kirby has a lot of me in him, and doesn’t always know when to keep his mouth shut.

Well, hipster typewriter is one way to describe a Macbook. The Creature probably prefers PCs because there are more games available for the system. All you have to do is put up with lousy interfaces…
